Durban takes a casual look at the beautifully multi-cultural and dynamic nature of Durbans Golden Mile, a long stretch of beaches and promenades at  the heart of the cities rejuvenation plans. Once strewn with litter with a reputation for crime and grime, the Durban beachfront has been transformed into a dynamic and safe playground for the cities inhabitants. It has also given communal space for the cities inhabitants to interact with each other in a country historically defined by its segregated past, and in the process is allowing for its inhabitants to redefine in their own eyes what it means to be South African.
